It is a tribute to many women in China that following "Golden Lotus," a millenary tradition, were subjected to the traumatic and painful deformation of their feet to please men; hence her hesitant walking keeps behind them. The impact of this reality led me to cut off the part of the legs from the knee downwards of a woman's work uniform, leaving separated from the body the average size and shape feet, delicate and well maintained (with red painted nails) that these women, could never have and, as in my work, were not part of their bodies. I think traditions should be respected as long as they do not attempt against the health or life of a living being, including animals.
