About The Artist

Raised in a household with no television but many art books, he found himself keenly interested in the impressionists. Summers spent in the Finnish countryside inspired in him a love Finnish realist artists. After graduating from University with his art degree, he realized that he could greatly benefit from learning from other contemporary artists. He attended workshops and watched many videos to further help develop his artistic skills In 2015, after taking an academic color theory class and comparing color charts to famous museum paintings, his mind awoke to how colors work in art. He spent almost two years away from direct painting and instead studied color theory. His artwork has been highlighted in Southwest Art Magazine and has won awards in the ARC Salon International Competition, Portrait Society, Bold Brush and most recently was awarded bronze in the 2018 Oil Painters of America National show. He loves to fish and to be outdoors and when not painting he can be found with his wife and four kids in the wilderness somewhere.
