Me and my rose

0.0 x 0.0

The painting: "Me and my rose" - Oil on canvas 100 x 80 cm. is a painting that, besides being a self-portrait, also tells about the contemporary person's presence in several rooms at the same time. Where we are physically located is not necessarily the same place where we act. We can actually be in different rooms at the same time. That it is just a rose I have between my hands is related to my relationship with the rose as a symbol of life. Life is beautiful but has thorns, because only in suffering does passion give meaning. It must hurt a little to be really good. The rose is both the flower of love, whose inner form has great similarities to the female genitals, but with the symbol of martyrdom, as well as an immediate reference to Mary worshiped by the Rosary and Jesus crowned with a crown of thorns, and last but not least, It is closely connected to the blood both by its color and its thorns. So with my great interest in life, the rose is an inevitable content in my world of images.
