Sarika Dandona, winner of 1 Silver and 5 Bronze Awards in the Abstract /Illustrative category at the Australian International Loupe Awards 2011, 1 Silver and 7 Bronze Awards in the Abstract/Illustrative category at the Australian International Aperture Awards 2009 and recognized with an Honorable Mention at the prestigious Prix De La Photographie, Paris for 2009 as well as 2010 and 58 Official Jury Selections in Prix De La Photographie, Paris for 2011, is a self-taught Abstract & Fine Art Photographer. She has been showcased as an upcoming photographer in Smart Photography (November 2008) and featured in Better Photography (February 2010), the two leading photography and imaging magazines in India. Her work has also been commissioned by Penguin Books India for the cover of the book titled "What Really Happened" by author Banaphool (Arunava Sinha Tr). She recently organized and conducted a SPIC MACAY photography workshop for students of Modern School, Barakhamba Road from July 18-22, 2011. Her work explores the intricacies involved in the interplay of light and shadows and revels in intrigue and surreal abstractions derived from a sheer concoction of colours, shapes, contours and textures. Her primary body of work serves as a catalyst to explore ideas, to provoke and challenge perceptions and first impressions, transforming mundane objects through a unique perspective. A biotechnologist and ex-Journalist, she is also an entrepreneur and consultant in the field of Healthcare and Life Sciences Marketing, Research, Communication and PR
