About The Artist
Karin Snoots has formal training as a commercial Illustrator. The art of painting for her is something so intimately personal she felt compelled to discover the process on her own. She believes that success has to do with deliberate practice. It must be focused and determined. Karin was chosen by The Delaware Division of the Arts to receive an Individual Artist Fellowship grant in the Emerging Professional category in 2008. She is a signature member of both the American Society of Marine Artists and Artists for Conservation Foundation. She is also a member of the Ocean Artists Society.
She has a deep respect for power and beauty of the ocean. Her fundamental mission is to serve as a catalyst for environmental awareness and conservation. She finds inspiration in the drama of nature and is constantly challenged to capture the dramatic sense of scale in space and light. She is also driven by a passion for exploration of color, which has the ability to evoke so many different emotions as well as spatial relationships.
