About The Artist
I WILL HOLD A SOLO EXHIBITION IN THE FOYER GALLERY AT THE LANDMARK ARTS CENTRE IN FERRY ROAD TEDDINGTON MIDDLESEX TW11 6HR FROM THE 4-15 TH NOVEMBER 2015 SHOWING A NEW SERIES OF SEA AND LANDSCAPES.
Influenced and inspired by the colours of our vibrant world, the main focus for me is experimentation with colour and light working in both the traditional media and slightly impressionistic genre - with a hint of realism added!
I am inspired when I look at the sea, where I live on the Dorset coast in southern England, and too, when I walk the stunning landscapes of The Chines and landscapes of The Purbecks. Painting these images, in oils, best allows me to capture the vibrancy of the colours around me with the knowledge that this medium will stand the test of time.
When the weather fails, then in the studio arranging the flowers and objects in my Still Life paintings with the tones and shadows controlled by careful lighting and watching the imagery slowly evolve to a flourish of the finished piece, is what inspires and drives me in this genre. These paintings, in a labour of love, take many hours to complete, in the 'Chiaroscuro' style classical manner of ancient times.
I have exhibited at The Brick Lane Gallery, Brick Lane London E1, The Chelsea Society of Art, Chelsea; The Menier Gallery London SE1; The Knapp Gallery, Regents Park London; The POSK Gallery, Hammersmith; Short-listed for the Royal Marine Artists Exhibition and ROI Exhibitions at Mall Galleries and The Royal West of England Art Exhibition in Bristol.
I was very proud to accept, when the Board of The SHASHOUA Foundation invited me to be part of their permanent exhibition, last shown in Cork Street London in late 2011. A significant private collection that continues to be exhibited globally.
