Bubbles

Bubbles is a series of photographs, capturing a sunny moment on the Santa Monica Pier. Each photograph is 30x20in. Installed measurements are about 30x65in, including 2.3in recommended distance between each piece. Each of these photographs is printed on Fujipearl paper, then face-mounted on Plexiglass. 1/8 Plexiglass face-mounted, ¼ Sintra back mounted and wood base hanging system. There are few things more joyfully associated with childhood than bubbles. Here, we watch an exuberant cluster of bubbles play across the deepest blue like children rushing outdoors to greet the sun. As the series flows and follows the movement of the bubbles, we see the unbroken swell eventually break off into individual bubbles. In this, we are reminded of the children growing up, finding their individuality and moving on – to wherever the wind takes them.
