Born in Venezuela, raised in Miami, FL and a New Yorker at heart, Mads’ work is a vibrant celebration of pop culture, where iconic faces and brands are reimagined through a bold, modern lens. Drawing inspiration from the pioneers of pop art, Mads blends acrylic, Posca markers, and spray paint on canvas to create colorful and edgy portraits that capture the spirit of today’s world. At the core of this work is a desire to strip away the power we often give to things like religion, money, politics, and brands—those elements we allow to control us. Mads' creative process is deeply rooted in daily meditation and everyday inspirations, allowing each piece to be infused with fresh energy and a playful yet sharp commentary on consumer culture. "As a storyteller, I'm interested in reimagining iconic faces and brands through a fresh, modern lens. In contrast to my humble upbringing, I like to fill my paintings with luxury brands and bold colors, adorning my subjects in opulent attire, symbols, and famous & personal quotes. I’m passionate about bringing a sense of abundance to the world."
