About The Artist
I was raised in New England, the daughter of a third generation wholesale florist. I spent my childhood playing and working in greenhouses full of flowers, enjoying the particular scent that only a thousand blossoms mixed with earth and heat can create. Daily, I experienced the visual cacophony of these blooms, in row upon row in their growing beds and finally bundled together awaiting market. As I grew, I began to understand the immense effort that was needed to create this beauty. The care taken with each and every plant through every step of it's cultivation. These childhood memories have surely impacted my choices of subject matter and I have found, over time, that my "new" flowers require the same gentle nurturing to grow as those I enjoyed as a child.
