About The Artist
Saule Piktys curently lives and works in Santa Monica, California. She grew up and was born in Lithuania, where she received her master's in architecture and fine art from Vilnius Academy of Art in 1989.
In 2005 she became a full-time studio artist, exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in the United States and abroad, including in 2011 Los Angeles City Hall Bridge Gallery, City of Los Angeles Minicipal Art Gallery Juried by Mary E. Oliver, Venice Art Walk,M.K. Ciurlionio National Museum of Art Kaunas and Kunstkamera Gallery, Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2010 project : Still Twombly House - Ephemeral Museum, Alicia Blue Gallery, Portland, Oregon, The Art of Summer, OCCCA, Crussell Fine Arts Santa Ana, California, UGALLERY The Affordable Art Fair New York, Artists Haven Gallery Ft Lauderdale, Florida, FADA: LA Convention Center, Sister Cities project, Los Angeles, Open Show-Gallery 825 Juried by Apsara DiQuinzio, Assistant Curator, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Los Angeles, in 2010-2009 her work has been shown at Bergamot Station Art Center, James Gray Gallery, Verve Gallery, part of the 2008 LACMA Muse Miracle Mile Art Walk, and at the LACMA Art Rental & Sales Gallery. In 2007 a retrospective exhibition, in M.K. Ciurlionio National Museum of Art Kaunas, Lithuania. Her work is in public and private collections.
In 1989, six months after graduation, she chose to stay in Los Angeles and began an extensive career in art production that has ranged from textile to interior design. She worked as a background artist for the animation, scenic, and graphic departments for nearly all of the major studios, including CBS, FOX, NBC, Paramount, Sony, and WB Productions. Saule is a member of the Art Directors Guild.
