This is the 3rd painting in what I term a “jazz series”. The development of the work happened while listening to classic jazz and the song connected with this one is “In the Still of the Night” by Perry Como. Some of the lyrics are In the Still of the Night As I gaze from my window At the moon in its flight My thoughts all stray to you…. It has I think, what could be described as a relaxed romantic mood. The acrylic and wax medium has been applied smoothly, as often jazz is described as “smooth” listening. It is signed on the reverse. As it is a deep canvas it doesn’t necessarily need framing and could be hung straight away.
