The Unbearable Lightness

Cole Parrant Mahdis Mousavi Masahiro Miyagi

The virtual exhhibition 'Unbearable Lightness' takes its name from the Milan Kundera novel 'The unbearable lightness of being', a novel philosophically underpinned by the idea that events in life occur only once. The three artists Cole Parrant, Mahdis Mousavi and Masahiro Miyagi all work in the medium of photography, and as such all utilise light, or the absence of light, to construct narratives around a single, never to be repeated photographic moment on the streets of their respective cities. Cole, Mahdis and Masahiro are year ten Visual Arts students living in Hobart, New York and Tokyo respectively. 'Unbearable Lightness' exhibition was made possible with the assistance of the digital gallery space Artavita.
