About The Artist

The nickname was first used by my uncle when I was a youth. The years of that young stockman and dozer driver are now a distant memory. I was born in country Queensland and spent my early childhood on a cattle property situated along the Nogo River. As a five-year-old, I would go out into the paddocks with my father and I've felt a strong connection to that landscape ever since. I'm a mainly self taught artist and I work in oils on canvas. I got my first set of oils at age nine and immediately did a painting of the big gum tree at the front of the house. I now continue to paint as 'Greybeard' that harsh country that is so familiar to me.
