About The Artist
By interest I am an ardent traveller and an avid photographer. I love capturing people and the stories that their faces tell. Recently one of my donated photographs was published on the cover page of HelpAge India journal (May, 2011 edition) and my photographs have been used in SAIL CSR ad.
By training I am a graduate in zoology from University Of Delhi. I have completed my post graduation in Advertising and Public Relations from Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.
I have participated in various pro-photography competitions and have been short-listed by the panel of judges. These include:
§ A day in the Life of India 2011: by The Times of India
§ Eventful India Photography awards - organized by Propaganda Media & Entertainment
§Nominated for Natgeo Moment Awards - 2011
My photos were also published in the corporate calendar of a French dental company called Septodont. It was based on the theme 'Essence of India' I have also donated a complete compilation of work on old people to the international NGO ‘HelpAge’ for which I received a letter of appreciation from the organisation.
Photographs know no language yet they express beautifully. Guided by this belief, I photograph people within their natural environments because I am curious to learn what lies behind their eyes, where they have been and where they hope to go. My photography evokes such passage of time masked by the pain or joy of daily aspirations.
My love for street photography helps me explore such regular expressions that go unnoticed in the monotony of routine life. They serve as a valuable motif that epitomizes something surreal; a reminder that what I create through the viewfinder is not just real to me but could speak a thousand words to perhaps many others.
I am self taught, because of the passion I have towards such imagery. It’s a magical feeling when I hold the camera. I wish to continue doing meaningful photography and enhance my capacities to do further justice to this art. I look forward to meet like-minded people and through these interactions enhance my erudition in speaking the language of photography, through photography.
