Elemental SwanWoman Humans and the environment, theme of the Elemental series. There is the relationship between man and fauna and flora, using symbiosis as a figure of expression, the environment exists with this harmonious relationship. The image of the Swan Woman, was the first production created to begin the series in the autumn of 1997, aims to draw attention, in addition to the beauty and softness of the photography, the care we must take with a region called Lagoa do Peixe, located in southern coast of Brazil, between the sea and Lagoa dos Patos, the largest freshwater lagoon in the world. Every year birds migrate from south to north and vice versa. This Lagoa do Peixe location, due to its shallow depth, and very rich in nutrients, shrimps, crustaceans and small fish, is ideal for migratory birds to feed and rest during their journey. I chose the Swan to represent in this photo the beauty, softness and great resistance of this bird that leaves Patagonia, in the extreme south, feeds in Lagoa do Peixe, and continues its journey to the North. Photographed with transparent color film and a Hasselblad camera, digitized with a CMYK cylindrical Hell scanner, in 1997.
