About The Artist

Although art was my hobby throughout my life, I did not take it up seriously until eight years ago when I took my first pastel class. I fell in love with pastel and began my art education by taking workshops with accomplished pastelists. My teacher and mentor is currently Richard McKinley. I have a strong connection to nature and have been painting predominately landscapes. I was honored recently by being invited to become a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. I belong to two other pastel societies as well. I was honored to receive a second place award in the Great Lakes Pastel Society Member Show in 2013 and also received an Honorable Mention in the Pastel Journal's Pastel 100 competition for 2014. My painting will be published in the April edition of the Pastel Journal. I have also won the competition for the 2014 Manitou Music Festival poster in Glen Arbor, Michigan with a painting of a scene from Sleeping Bear Dunes. Painting is my passion.
