About The Artist
I love to work outside over several birch panels strewn together flat on the ground. I apply gesso, fiber or molding paste experimenting with the textural contrasts created by white on white marks. I pour, drip and splatter over twenty ribbons of color using large gestural movements. By tilting or spinning the panel the colors flow though the white structural base.
Pigments and modern mediums have individual personalities based on their density and viscosity. The ‘Siqueiros’ party begins when they collide, repel, and pulsate though one another.Timing is everything. A unique organic distortion is produced reminding me of glass paperweights.
I strive to delight the viewer with the exquisite detail and illusion of depth and movement rendered by these lavish, luminescent pools of paint.
