About The Artist
Carole Osmotherly
For many years I was a Special Education Teacher in the ACT, but I have always had a fascination with silk painting and about twelve years ago I attended an inspiring weekend silk painting workshop run by Gill Burke in Braidwood. I became hooked and now devote much of my time to silk painting.
Initially I designed and created scarves, wraps, wall hangings and screens. More recently I have been successfully working on silk paintings that usually depict water views and landscapes. I enjoy the challenge of working with paint on silk, because although I have control of the colours I uses, each painting evolves in its own way taking on its own shape and design.
