Rising Son

This abstract did not start as a religious painting, but as I continued to work on it the crown of thorns just appeared. I did actually pray that God would guide me in this painting because it was the first large canvas I worked on and I was quite nervous. As you can see my prayers were answered in an obvious way. It was also painted during the Easter holiday but was originally going to be a sunrise. I used a play on words to indicate that calling it Rising "Son".
