was born in St Louis, Missouri, USA moved to Australia in the early to mid 70's becoming an Australian citizen in the 80's currently working in Sydney putting my artistic talent to work with antique engravings and lithographs, doing paper restoration, framing, hand finished frames and mounts.Interested in art from an early age I won my first portrait competition at 11 or 12 years of age. I worked for many years predominantly in charcoal, pastels and watercolour, doing mainly portraits, landscapes and still life. Having lived in Japan for three years and studied with a master Sumi artist, I was influenced by this experience, learning great brush technique and also honing my skill with charcoal and conte. I have been painting in Oils for the last 18 years, painting Alla Prima.I did a workshop with Alexei Antinov Master Artist of classical painting 7 years ago I then started painting in the Flemish Technique. First prize 2007 Australian Artist Magazine Challenge #30 Still Life and Florals Article on flemish technique published in Oct. 2009 Australian artist Magazine Australian Artist Magazine Finalist for still Life in 2010,2011 and2013 Finalist with 2 paintings in the 2011 Gosford Art Prize. Finalist in the 2011 and 2012 Mortimore Prize Finalist in the 2012 and 2013 Gosford Art Prize recieving a highly commended award in 2013. Finalist in the 2015 International Artist Magazine Still Life Challenge.
