About The Artist

Born in Hokkaido in 1953, Yuko Akiya is a Molding artist. In her works she uses stainless steel, which she became familiar with during childhood days at the factory in her hometown. She cherishes her inspiration, infusing a sense of balance, the aesthetics of blank space and the art of spatial arrangement that she acquired from flower arrangement.
