About The Artist


Biography Moisés Ramos was born in New York in 1967, but he lived in Puerto Rico (P.R.) for 30 years. His career started in college during the late 1980’s where his artwork was selected to be exposed in several galleries and collective art shows. After his bachelors degree in arts (1990) he continued participating in collective expositions not only in Puerto Rico, but also in the USA, England, France and Europe Moises has also been awarded numerous times for his mixed media, engravings and black & white photography. Since 1993, he has been working as an art educator and has been selected as Teacher of the year in Puerto Rico and Jacksonville. His devoted work with his students and the refugee community also deemed him the recipient of the 2009 Memphis Wood Excellence in Teaching Award. Ramos’ beliefs are reflected in his students daily, by his aim to create masterpieces out of every child he encounters. He understands that to educate is more than teaching a subject matter, it is empowering a child to be a well rounded human being. Moises works as a Dual Language art teacher at Beauclerc Elementary and Art and photography teacher for Lutheran Social Services summer camps and Cathedral Arts Projects.
