20x15ins. Pastel. This painting came about from B&W photographs I made in 1986. I was struck by the melancholy and consolation of the subject and thought it would make a good composition for a painting. I enhanced the lighting and landscape to support this melancholy and chose soft pastel as a sympathetic medium.
