About The Artist
My paintings are actually personal diaries. Anytime I look at some of them I can remember the exact feelings and condition in which they originated. I don´t create with exact idea of what is to appear on the canvas. Everything comes intuitively. I find bizzare characters, faces, animals and monsters after the painting is finished. It´s like lying on the grass, watching the clouds and suddenly seeing the strange things in them. It´s up to you and your imagination to find „something“ in the paintings. Or don´t discover anything, just let the colours work on you.
I am pure amateur and I learned everything about painting by myself. I don´t have any idol, because the art is very personal to me. I don´t like comparing to someone, to paint like someone. Of course I have my favourite artists: Vincent van Gogh, Vladimír Boudník, Paul Gaugin,… But they mainly influenced me by how they lived, following their own path. I perceive the paintings not only by my eyes, but by all the senses. I read that van Gogh even ate paints. I understand him now. I love the smell of paints, I love to touch them. That´s the main reason why I paint mainly with my fingers and why my paintings have a structure. The other reason is that I hate to clean the paintbrushes :).
Today´s world is very accelerated and people began to lose their ability to perceive details. Everything is digitized and people are moving away from life in nature. That´s why I am trying to impress those receptive ones with my paintings and show them beauty in everyday things such a peeling wall, rusty piece of iron, the bark of old tree, etc. Living in the heart of nature and watching its everyday changes helps me a lot with that.
My paintings have no names for one simple reason: I don´t want to give the onlookers instructions what to see or feel. I paint for myself, but if anyone finds something that appeals to him or her I am glad for it and I feel satisfied. I love people who are able to get away from conventions and to see the hidden things thanks to their fantasy and imagination.
"If my poetry aims to achieve anything, it's to deliver people from the limited ways in which they see and feel."
