About The Artist
I received a Master’s degree in fine art and design from the Moscow School of Applied Arts. After graduating I began my career as a painter and my pieces were displayed and sold in numerous exhibitions throughout Europe. After relocating to Toronto, I began a new career as an artist and illustrator.
My artistic abilities have been recognized through numerous national and international awards for illustrations, design and photography.
I am an illustrator, digital artist, acrylic and oil painter and I also work with mixed media.
Through my personal work, I seek to create enchanting, curious and captivating art, which stems from a certain emotional, historical or cultural approach. I seek to balance real life with spiritualism, the elegance of classical art with a modern vision. I like to experiment and play with elements melting one into another.
My works are parables, but without a final point or a moral. Each of them is an invitation to dialogue. I want to achieve multi-layeredness in my works; I want the viewer to choose which layer to go deeper into. When the work is finished, it no longer matters what the artist wanted to say, what matters is what the viewer saw. Even if there are dozens of different interpretations, I am sure that each of them is absolutely correct.
