Old Soldiers is an original hand painted abstract landscape oil painting 30" x 30" x 3/4" with painted canvas wrapped around the edges. It was created en plein air (French for "open air") and captures the emotions of nature and brings them to you for your enjoyment. The painting is playful, somewhat abstract and contemporary in style, with expressionism overtones. The painting is of 3 old trees which have lost many branches, but have survived storms and had many years of providing shade for owners of the home and nests for birds. These trees are in the yard of a house on the Bivalve Wharf Road in Bivalve, MD, on the MD Eastern Shore.
