This is my favourite piece of all. The amount of time and patience involved makes Penance the most rewarding for me. Each fiddly coil of string is wound and attached by hand, the rings actually piercing the canvas strung with ribbon. And the torso. The torso I believe is some of my best acrylic work yet! I wanted to portray pain and beauty here, isolation but yet the undercover population of desire. Penance April 2011 75x25x4cm Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas
