About The Artist
SHANNON CELIA FINE ART
At the core of Shannon Celia’s award winning artwork is a deep appreciation and awe of the sea and nature. Finding inspiration in details such as the front of a ship or the inside of a wave, she strives to capture movement and fleeting moments of light hitting something in a unique way.
Painting professionally for over a decade, Shannon accepts commissions for boats, vintage cars, homes, churches and schools. She grew up in coastal New England and began painting in oil & watercolor while at Pepperdine University. Living in Oxnard, California allows her to explore coastal beauty side by side with industry and examine want versus need. Her recent work depicts fishing vessels in Channel Islands & Ventura Harbor, oil platforms, power plants, guard towers stored over winter, dredging vessels and other local landmarks. Shannon exhibits at galleries in California and New England has collectors on four continents. She's also a member of several art organizations and enjoys volunteer work gallery sitting and mentoring foster teens. She has a large solo show every few years and recently had 44 piece show entitled “Captivating Coastal," in Ventura, CA. She loves painting en plein air and in the solitude of her studio.
Shannon is also the author of "ABC’s of the Sea" and founder of the Annual Pepperdine Alumni Art Showcase in Malibu.
