About The Artist
Bonnie Perlin graduated from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Spanish. She taught full time for several years in North Bellmore, Long Island and then worked as a substitute teacher in the Lawrence Woodmere school district. In 1988 she began studying painting under the tutelage of famed portrait painter, Charles Pasqualina. Her work has appeared in numerous juried shows and exhibitions in the New York area, among them The mansion at Old Westbury Gardens, the Sea Cliff Gallery, the Roslyn School of Painting, the Sundance Gallery in Bridgehampton, N.Y. the Scherr Gallery in Aventura, Fl. and the Robley Gallery in Roslyn, N.Y. She exhibited at the National Arts Club in Manhattan with the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in their 99th annual exhibition to provide a grant to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She participated in the Artist's Plate Project to feed the hungry at the Sea Cliff Gallery, and the 46th artist's exhibition at the Hecksher Museum of Art. Her painting "Abandoned", was shown in an exhibit in the Boca Museum of Art, through the Artist's Guild. She is a member of Art Serve of Fort Lauderdale, which provides programs services and facilities for the cultural community. She served as the art consultant on the honorary committee for the ASCENT Funding Organization for autistic children on Long Island. She is currently a member of the Boca Raton Museum of Art Professional Artist's Guild. Her painting "Dusk Run", won second place in the WITVA exhibit "In the Good Ole Summertime, at the Dekray Beach Public Library. Her "Sunflower" painting was selected for the "Flower Power", exhibit at Palm Beach Airport. "A Day At The Beach", was featured on the cover of the September 15th edition of "Dan's Paper, a Hampton, Long Island weekly newspaper. Her work can be seen at The Gallery Lounge in the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Da Lowa Deck Gallery, in Boca Raton , The Heart of Delray Gallery where she also has her studio and Posh Design Studio in West Boca. The artist presently resides in Highland Beach, Florida.
