About The Artist

Biography

I grew up in Paris, France. My parents’ roots are in the island of Guadeloupe, French West Indies, India and Bretagne. As a child, I was surrounded by Art everywhere in my daily life. I always wanted to be a painter.

Life brought me to the United States where I started a career as a world language teacher. I earned a Master in Education at The University of Puget Sound and a Bachelor at The University of Washington.  While at the University of Washington, I took as many art classes I could to feed my passion for painting. The last course with Virginia CommonWealth University in 2009 was a post graduate class with professional artists. I was in heaven and thankful for this opportunity. From this moment I started painting again and never stopped.

Today, I’m still working as a full time World Language teacher and paint weekly. I have sold my paintings to private collectors worldwide.

Artist's statement

My work celebrates the ocean’s aqua blue water and the sun.

My scenes depict island life and Creole culture in the Caribbean with a hint of fantasy.

My 1st motto is: "Give me Ocean, give me life"

My painting techniques are a blend of illustration, realism, naive art and painterly approaches.
My work is bright, colorful and rich in details.
It aims to uplift the viewer’s spirit and to share energies of triumph.

Art should bring joy and peace. Life has enough challenges to paint anything else.

My 2nd motto is: "Dream a beautiful dream"

For you cast your future with your thoughts, so feed your soul with joy.
