About The Artist

Nicole Traver is a Brookfield, Ct-based artist with a keen eye for colors and a unique talent for acrylic pour painting. Nicole did not have an easy life growing up. Being born with spina bifida meningocele, Nicole wears legs braces to be able to walk and spent the bulk of her life alone and being made fun of by school mates. She was always told by people that she would “be lucky to ever amount to anything in her life. After 18 years of physical therapy and thirty seven surgeries: Nicole is thriving. Nicole is now an Administrative Assistant and is a dog mom to Toby, her crazy one and a half year old labradoodle. Unfortunately, even though things were going well for her, something was missing. Nicole wanted to learn a new skill, something else to show people that being born with a disability shouldn’t stop you from being happy and creative and always learning.  Nicole went on YouTube and discovered Acrylic Pour Painting! Everything changed for her!

Nicole started practicing this style during the start of the Covid pandemic. She started with canvases and then quickly moved on to acrylic pour painting on vases, coasters and even Christmas ornaments.  She started giving her artwork as gifts to friends and family and posting them all on her social media. That’s when things really started to happen for her. Nicole’s artwork got noticed by a local library in Connecticut and they wanted to exhibit her work. This is where she sold her first piece.

Nicole’s acrylic pour style is characterized by fluid and bold lines, creating a mesmerizing abstract composition that evokes a sense of wonder and contemplation. Through her works, Traver seeks to convey the raw and unfiltered emotions that lie beneath the surface of our consciousness. With each piece, she invites viewers to immerse themselves in a world of vibrant colors and dynamic shapes, igniting their senses and triggering a deep emotional response. Her art is a true reflection of the intricate nature of human emotions, making it a powerful and

thought-provoking experience.

Each canvas becomes a stage where color and movement coalesce, resulting in pieces that are both unpredictable and meticulously crafted. Her journey with acrylic pour painting is one of continuous discovery, where the flow of paint mirrors the complexities of the human experience—unpredictable, yet profoundly meaningful. Through her art, she strives to create a dialogue between the observer and the canvas, presenting a visual narrative that challenges conventional perceptions and evokes a spectrum of emotions.

Her inspiration is rooted in the desire to forge connections beyond the tangible, encouraging viewers to immerse themselves in a world of abstract possibilities. Each piece is a unique tapestry of colors and patterns, reflecting an inner landscape where thoughtfulness and creativity intertwine. The abstract nature of her work offers an open invitation for interpretation, allowing each observer to bring their own experiences and emotions to the forefront, crafting a personal narrative within the swirling hues and textures.

As an artist, her aim is to transcend mere aesthetics and foster a space where contemplation and emotional resonance converge. Through the interplay of color and form, she seeks to awaken a sense of wonder and introspection, reminding viewers of the beauty found in ambiguity and the power of art to evoke profound emotional responses.

Gaining confidence in her artwork and in herself, Nicole then decided to put herself out there more and started entering online art contests. Nicole’s artwork has since been featured on websites and virtual magazines from The Blue Koi Gallery, Artist Space Gallery, Art Room Gallery, Gallery 4 Percent, Camelback Gallery and most recently in the Masterful Minds Art Magazine from the Circle Foundation and even the Virtual Europa Art Fair in Amsterdam! Nicole also has a craft fair in November coming up and a solo Gallery exhibit in January scheduled. Nicole is looking forward to continuing to share her creativity with the world.
