46" x 36". Oil on Canvas. A rusty red wall leading to a traditional arched way and a modern rectangular frame in cloudy white sit next to each other on different planes. Different realities overlap. Where goes one turn – from which to which? The painter’s oft- repeated themes of doorways and steps take on a distinct play in this painting. But as elsewhere, the boundary between the two planes is not obvious and complete. Therein lies the unresolved tension.?
