"WAKE" A whole night thrown near a massacred companion with his mouth sneering facing the whole moon with the congestion of his hands penetrating my silence I have written letters full of love I have never been attached to life so much Cima Quattro, 23 December 1915 Giuseppe Ungaretti PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT: This project entitled "Wake" which I composed on the occasion of the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, takes inspiration from a poem by Giuseppe Ungaretti entitled the same name. He wrote this poem as a young soldier while he was on the front in the mountains of Karst (Italy) on the night of December 23,1915, describing all the pain and horror of the Great War. In my photographs I took details of the monument "Martyrs of the Resistance" in my town in Reggio Emilia. (Italy)
