Born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1933,.Kimiko Sakamoto is a Japanese-style painter. Having studied under Gyokusei Jikihara, she mainly shows in exhibitions open to the general public, as a member of the Nippon Nanga-in. Both an art and music lover, above all else she pursues and incorporates into her work the "state of mental detachment" characteristic of the Nanga school of painting.
