Dosanko (people native to Hokkaido) in Hokkaido are a central feature in most of Sumiko Yoshihara's paintings. Her works capture the strength particular them and her backgrounds provide a window into their lifestyle and culture. Yoshihara has works on display at the Hokkaido Modern Artist Association exhibition.
