Sobre el Artista
Dana Hursey, a Southern California native, has been a photographer his entire life.
He studied commercial photography and film at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California and graduated with a BFA in Photography. His award winning commercial career has given him the opportunity to work with a broad scope of clientele and a wide range of subject matter. In addition he has travelled and exhibited internationally for documentary projects, photographically archived fine art collections, and has been called upon to provide photography for several books.
Over the years he has been a frequent teacher (at Art Center, UCLA, and other various schools and workshops), guest speaker / lecturer, and serves on the National Board of Directors for APA (American Photographic Artists).
More recently he has been creating bodies of personal work, in particular, large resolution, highly detailed images of botanical specimens for the intent purpose of large format fine art prints.
Dana lives and works with his partner and two white German Shepherd / Siberian Husky rescues in the foothills of the Los Angeles suburbs in their renovated 1940's mid-century modern home by noted architect Gregory Ain.
