Generally I draw scenery pictures or pictures from a different era in time. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and try my hand at a different subject and this drawing is the end result of my attempt. 14" x 17" on Strathmore Drawing Paper, medium is Prismacolor coloring pencils

My friend Chris is a model and he let me use his photo for my subject. In his photo he portrays a gangster. I think by using the graphite pencils in my drawing of the photo that it helps portray that image. This is an 11" x 14" graphite drawing on Canson drawing paper.

Hungry Eyes

The eyes of this little boy drew me in. I saw his hunger for "more". His yearning, his wanting, his sadness and despair. I wanted to capture it as much as I possibly could. We all have this desire within us yearning for "more." Sometimes we dream for more, but we never achieve our dreams, and sometimes we are born in a world where we are just grateful to survive the day, not given the opportunities as others have been given. This boy lives in that world, and yearns for so much more. 14 x 17 on Strathmore medium drawing paper, Derwent graphite pencils.
