James Venuti is a photographer and woodworker based in New York City specializing in cityscape and architectural photography. Taking advantage of his talent in wood working, he began carving custom frames for his photographs, creating one of a kind works of art. His appreciation for architecture is evidenced in each carefully crafted three-dimensional detail carved to compliment the buildings and bridges in his frames. The culmination of James' vision and hard work comes to fruition in his series "Living Frames", which is a collection of his most popular photographs infused into aluminum and mounted onto an intricately designed mixed media platform. The aluminum brings sharper color and detail to the scene while the hardwood frames, hand-carved and painted by the artist himself, expand on a specific mood expressed in the photograph. Each piece brings a unique vision to these captured moments and is one of a kind.
