Gerry Genet

Sobre el Artista

A self-taught photographer, he uses all means of creating images. Most works were done on location with Nikon DSLR and lenses. In some cases he was using Polaroid equipment and films. No further digital manipulations took place. Gerry does most shots situations on-site, where light sources move, along with additional movements of the camera, combined with long apertures, giving these sculptural results. Gerry sees this as a kind of "photon-painting". He tries to create sculptures, fields, patterns, harmonies, and fluids, where no one would realize them when just walking by. The original prints are 1.20 meters by 1.6 meters using matte Hahnemuhle paper, mounted on aluminum backs and presented without glass or frames. Gerry has participated in many group shows and solo exhibitions in Switzerland and within Europe. He is represented by 2 galleries in the greater Zurich area.
