Sobre el Artista

I believe Art is a great way to express your emotions and feelings. Being an artist is a constant process, not a permanent trait. I am a San-Diego-based artist working primarily with a form of resin to cast the shapes of water and glassy elements that comprise each sculpture. My art is an invitation to slide into a state where we feel alive and awake, into a set of passionate depth and radiating energy where our hearts and imaginations are filled with possibilities. My work is an ever-evolving, ever-changing, organic thing. I started my process with a few colors of resin, and a very basic technique resin pouring on canvas or wood. My work today has evolved into creating scenes in time and space sculptures. I get filled with excitement, while planning, and working on a new piece of art, I often can't sleep, eat, or focus on anything else. Literally watching the resin drying and forming, and begging for it to do so faster... All in anticipation of that moment when I step back and see my vision from days, weeks, and sometimes months before, takes an organic morph which is not the last... The ever-changing flow of resin medium intrigues me to continue to try different things. I view my work as an ever-evolving and exploratory journey through the experimentation of the process. In each piece, I attempt to create the right combination of both feelings and realism. Those moments are the reason I have become obsessed with this line of work! My pieces are entirely organic. While the translucent creations convey the light and lustrous quality of glass, they’re actually crafted from a different—and surprising—medium: resin! My pieces capture scenes of time and space instances and evoke movement with a drip of human drama. I begin a piece of art, by visualizing each step of the process, from the first drawing, to finished work. When my work is going well, I am filled with a sense of pride. When people see my work, I'd like them to see a story in the colors, and textures. My work reflects my life and my thoughts. The stories of those thoughts are enchanting and tell us to notice life around us and to express our feelings. When I am creating a piece of art, there is nothing else on my mind; it is an Escape from the Real World! My true passion is an art that is free-flowing, as well as freehand...unpredictable, unplanned and spontaneous.! I think of my sculptures as vessels of carrying the meaning of human feelings and relationships using the umbrella which symbolizes the canopy of heavens, shelter, and protection and often an emblem of power and dignity. The sculptures represent multi-layered emotional security, you are putting up a shield against your emotions or other negative occurrences like the rain or other misfortune. https://www.ritiniart.com/
