Sobre el Artista
Based in North London, Bea Campbell paints using bold colours and a gestural style to create whimsical paintings with a feeling of adventure. Most commonly using oil paint on canvas, her work is inspired by visual stimuli collected from multiple sources: travels, her own native London, daydreams and the increasingly digital world. Although her work tends to be based on the figurative, she overturns the representational through the use of bright colours and gestural style, inviting the viewer to appreciate the colour, shapes and form.
After studying Fine Art: Painting at Wimbledon College of Art, Campbell fell into the advertising world briefly but returned to painting as a scenic artist working on productions such as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Book of Mormon and Back to the Future. When the pandemic hit earlier this year, lockdown allowed her to reignite her own painting practice, working from her studio in Dalston.
