Sobre el Artista
Manuel Fernández was born and raised in Venezuela. He studied electrical engineering and worked with cardiology medical devices and several other software companies. In 2008/2009, after the crisis, he began a period with an inclination for art. First with video games and movies, then writing some scripts and getting involved as a producer in some short film projects.
But he was always interested in something more organic and human and began self-taught in drawing and painting in 2015. He already did it as a child so it was a return to his beginnings. He studied and traveled through Mexico, Spain and Italy to learn from the artists and museums of those countries. His mediums include charcoal and graphite for drawings, and watercolors and oils for paintings. Not that often, but he also used ink and pastels. He likes classical figuration and his references are John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Anders Zorn, Ramon Casas among others.
