Born 1949 in Zagreb, Croatia, Posavec is a swiss citizen. He is self-taught and his works could be categorized within the realm of Folk art, with respect to traditional rules of perspective and proportion. Boris has had six solo shows and participated in group exhibitions in New York, Switzerland, Germany etc. He has received invitations to participate in international exhibits in Spain, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Senegal and China. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards and his works are featured in international and private collections. Since 1977, Posavec has been member of the Zürich Art Guide Directory. I have devoted myself to glasspainting, one of the most singular and difficult techniques which painting has to offer. I began painting seriously some 25 years ago for myself, not realizing at that time one day my paintings would achieve such wide public relevance. I painted what I saw and felt. My themes were taken from my memory, my vacations, watched nature and people looking for the shadows of different colors and when I was ready to realize my work, I came home with all of it in my mind, just closed my eyes and imagine the scene.
