Sobre el Artista

Lyn received her first art award over 50 years ago; since then she seems to always be drawing, painting and making things. Although she has worked in many art areas over the years, the one true passion that she has never diverted from is her love for human faces. She has continued to be captivated by the diversity found in people’s faces. How can God create so much diversity with only two eyes, one nose and a mouth? Now that she is retired from working full-time she can focus in on her love for human faces to become a portraiture artist. Education: Lyn studied art at Cal Poly University and Allen Hancock College in California, before moving to Texas to work as an illustrator and graphic artist with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Currently Lyn travels extensively with her husband around the United States; while he works she creates art and visits art galleries and museums studying the masters. Experience: Her professional experience includes working as an illustrator, graphic artist, as well as teaching art. She has participated in many exhibitions and shows. Some of which were sponsored by the DeSoto Art League and The Ellis County Art Association. The highlight of her exhibitions was a one-person show in the DeSoto City Hall in November 2007. In the February 2007 issue of The Red Oak Now Magazine, Lyn was honored with an article featuring her as a local artist and art teacher. Gallery representation: Art for the Islands in Port Aransas, Texas. Anderson in Waxahachie, Texas. Lyn’s work hangs in many collections through out the United States. She has illustrated books, one book for adults and several for children. A number of her art works has been chosen to adorn greeting cards.
