Born in Thun, Switzerland. Before realizing that painting was the challenge for which she was searching, Eliane Saheurs did photographic work in Europe, including studies of landforms, an influence evident in her painting. Began Art studies in 1985 at Algonquin College, Ottawa, and continued at the Ottawa School of Art. Studied also with professional artists in different countries. Residency, Contemporary Artists Center, North Adams, MA. Worked in New Mexico, France and Crete. Lived in Switzerland, Ireland, Germany and France
