Sobre el Artista

I am a traditionally trained fine artist. I attended The Art Students League in New York City for six years. I became an assistant professor of Anatomy, Western European Drawing and Traditional Portrait, Figure and Still Life Painting at The Art Students League. I lectured on Anatomy in New York's School of Visual Arts and The Parsons School of Design, The Chicago Art Institute. My early years as an artist I spent as a professional fine artist and traditional illustrator. In 1989 I began to explore the introduction of software applications for creating digital artwork and graphics. This started with vector graphics applications produced by Adobe “Illustrator “ and Aldus “FreeHand”. In 1990 I continued to study at The New School in New York City and was introduced to the first version of Adobe Photoshop. From that time I devoted all of my attention to this new explosion of digital software. My enthusiasm for this emerging market increased as quickly as the companies that began to compete on it’s horizons. I was overwhelmed by the idea of being able to combine my images with sound and later to have the user be able interact with what was on screen. For a period of time in 1990 I was living in Philadelphia and started working for The Hall Lewis Advertising Agency as a digital illustrator. Most of my work was done for MERCK and at that point I realized this is what I wanted to do with my career. After moving back to the New York area in 1991 I began working for large pharmaceutical advertising agencies as a conceptual digital illustrator. The work was abundant and the field was open to any new talent that worked digitally. This enabled me to get into many new fields of illustration and I became very involved with corporate branding and design. The web grew and I grew along with it. I then began to take my 2D work into 3D and then Flash came along and that got me started on interactive motion graphics. I now work as a 3D modeler/animator and motion graphic artist. I continue to challenge myself as a 3D medical illustrator and motion graphic artist. Most of my work is now done in Cinema 4D as my primary 3D application and Adobe After Effects as my post production application.
