Sobre el Artista
Deborah Bank sees the glorious in the mundane. Traveling throughout the world with her camera and unique perspective, Deborah communicates the passionate language of nature and her extraordinary point of view through her one-of-a-kind photographs.
Deborah grew up in Mexico City and has traveled extensively throughout her life, capturing the beauty of various continents. Soon, Deborah realized her photographs showcased a world others have never seen. Deborah has spent extensive time in South Africa observing wildlife. She has also traveled to Australia and New Zealand, South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Deborah finds the wonder from each and captures that magic through her lenses. Recently, she spent time exploring Norway’s fiords where the abundance of water and nature is hypnotizing.
Much of Deborah’s work presents images as a series, allowing viewers to take a more active role in what they see. Rather than passively viewing nature, the series challenges your eyes to analyze and question what they are seeing. This presents a more provocative way of engaging in nature and draws you in to Deborah’s unique view. Deborah presents her artwork face mounted behind acrylic, one of the most impressive methods of showcasing photographs. Widely used in museums and galleries, Deborah prefers this technique because it adds a third dimension to two-dimensional images.
Deborah has studied in Mexico, the Bay Area and most recently at the Brentwood Art Center where some of her work has been exposed. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
