Sobre el Artista

‘I love to tell stories…’ Under this credo, as a symbol of my inspiration, I would like to introduce myself as Ellen van Teijlingen. I was born in the Dutch city of Hoorn in 1975. I earned my degree from the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Amsterdam College for the Arts, 1st degree teacher Art) and I also studied at the Rietveld Academie (the Netherlands' foremost college of the fine arts). Through my art I love to convey stories, passages of life embedded in collages and mixed media. Moreover, I have a deeply rooted passion for photography, which I use as my personal expression of moments in time. I use a rich palette of materials and techniques to reach a unique match, true power and refinement. With abstract subjects, or through a mystical frivolity, I play with contrasts in atmosphere and colors. My collection tells a story, it personifies my spectrum. I have a longing for originality and harmony, purely from the core of my creativity. '...Ellen'
