Innocent Mbey
Innocent Mbey is an artist painter who's mediums are oil and acrylic but current drive joy in oil paint, he was born in Afikpo North Ugwuegu in Ebonyi State, on 21st of November. He did his Primary and Secondary Education in Lagos after which he proceeded to the prestige’s school Yaba College Of Technology where he obtained his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Fine Art where he majored in Painting.
He taught Culture And Creative Art in Migrant Science And Technical College in Ibalebo Adadama Cross River State.
Innocent, works with acrylic and oil on canvas, and his paintings are marked with boldness, royalty, calmness and peaceful environment mood.
Innocent art reflect his belief that art can be used to address problems affecting both himself, humanity and as his love reflection for nature.
He draws inspiration from nature, environment and societal occurrence.
Been with his father in the days of his farming life came out to be the total birth for love for nature, animals, also a link to opening to environment and his society love, so he display that on canvas for people to see and appreciate nature in her original state.
His style of painting is achieved through infusion and blending technic, combination of human and nature to create a union between man and nature, this style was influenced by the 20th century painting that is surrealism.
He was able to achieve this through the use of some materials such as oil paint, painting brushes and primed canvas.
He see art as a link of communication that enable us to connect to the realm of happiness physically, spiritually, mentally and also as a justified way of addressing problems affecting myself and humanity. The subject matter of my works are societal occurrences, mental wellbeing and reflection of nature.
At moment he lives and work in Lagos.
