Medicine Chest

25" circle with tail mixed media The medicine chest represents the secret of illness I kept from my family and the world... Many years ago I had a terrible infection and had to be put on a "pic" line and injected with antibiotics. I was very very sick, but refused to tell anyone about my ordeal. I've lived with a "superwoman" complex my entire life and refuse to show weakness. When I was cured I noticed I still had a supply of injection needles/pipes and other medical paraphernalia associated with my illness. I also had this strange skull within my repertoire of assemblage junk in my studio. I was inspired to put them all together and create this piece titled "Medicine Chest".
